Henry Cavill carried this show on his broad shoulders, and knowing this was his final season as Geralt made watching it deeply depressing. Cavill loves the books and games, but the writers' room shows no respect for the source material.
The pacing is a disaster. Half the episodes are confusing political meetings, balls, and subplots about mages whose names you will not remember. Dialogue often sounds like modern teenagers rather than ancient sorcerers, and too many costumes look like they came from a Halloween pop-up store.
When Geralt gets to fight monsters, the choreography remains top-tier. Those moments are too rare. Yennefer and Ciri's arcs feel disjointed, and the familial bond never feels earned. It is mediocre fantasy television leaning on brand recognition. Without Cavill's charisma, I have no interest in seeing season four.
